Al Gore Endorses Barack Obama

Tonight, Al Gore officially endorsed Barack Obama in Detroit, Michigan. In a rousing speech given in true Gore style, the man who most of us believe should have been president in 2000 vowed to give his full support to the presumptive Democratic nominee. For those who wish to support Obama's campaign via Al Gore's website, you can go to https://donate.barackobama.com/page/contribute/gore?source=AlGoreEmail.

Needless to say, our Gore activities were suspended a while ago and our campaign is officially over. Let's all do what we can to take back the White House in November.

Al needs to and should be our next Vice President!

Why should Al Gore be our next Vice President? Because he has the most experience at the job while serving under Bill Clinton.

While I would like Mr. Gore to step up again against the crooked republican party i.e. George W. Bush; he should have run for the presidency. If the masses have forgotten the amout of illegality that occured in the 2000 elections, rent "Recount" to remember.

I feel that Mr. Gore would do (even) more good for this country and this planet (especailly) if he was Barack Obama's running mate.

I Blame Gore

At the moment of his greatest poltical challenge, Al Gore has not only failed to accept the responsibility of running for President, he has cast the fate of the Democratic Party ( and potentially America) with Barack Obama, who is currently running as fast as he can to become more Republican than the Republicans: pro guns, pro death, pro religion in the schools, and probably pro leaving troops in Iraq. At this pivotal moment in our history as a democracy and as a planet, Al Gore has chosen to work the back channels while leaving the door of the White House wide open.

GENERAL Clark v. POW McCain

Finally, someone with some credibility has said it: being shot down doesn't qualify you to be Commander-in-Chief.

General Clark could be a real asset to this campaign. His experience as a NATO Commander leading the military action against Serbia, in which NO American soldiers died in combat, clearly trumps McCain's credentials of poor pilot and (possibly privileged) POW.

Gore's Role in an Obama Administration?

Some people have suggested that Al Gore would be a good choice for Barack Obama's running-mate. Personally I have not heard a good argument in favor of Al Gore as Obama's VP. I honestly don't think it will help the ticket. Some voters are put off by Gore. I don't think it would even help to win over HRC supporters, most of whom will come around in due time anyway.

I think it would help Obama more to hint that he's going to give Gore a large role other than VP, without getting specific, if possible.

I would like to see Al Gore in one of these roles:
- Secretary of the Interior

Why would anyone endorse more oil rigs off the Florida coast?

I watched Senator McCain run his push for more State run offshore oil drilling and then I watched Governor Crist the very next day agree with his fellow Republican. For years Floridians have fought endlessly to keep drilliers off our shores and then it ends up as a solution to our fuel problems? Our fuel prices are up because our dollar has plumeted in value because of the war and our foreign debt. It would take more then a year to pass the legislation and then contractor bidding and protesting before we see any oil from these contracted companies. We need relief right now.

Dear Al Gore

I appreciate your stepping up, Al ...

I was the TA in one of your courses at Harvard, back then, helping the Deans Hunt and Phillips do their job. I follow your career and efforts with hope.

Change, as you call for it, change, as Senator Obama calls for it, CHANGE is not an illusive target. It accepts definition, specificity, and constant feedback loops. The forces to move public funds to private benefit are everywhere and entrenched in current government. To guard the public trust, build in the feedback loops.

Al Gore Endorses Obama

"A few hours from now I will step on stage in Detroit, Michigan to announce my support for Senator Barack Obama. From now through Election Day, I intend to do whatever I can to make sure he is elected President of the United States."
