Conflict of interest?

Al Gore is a very smart man. His concepts are progressive and everything he touches seems to turn to gold. He is ahead of the times. I realized he is involved in many business ventures and he is encouraging a direction that will support efforts to combat global warming. I have some thoughts of concern regarding his investment corporation and perhaps other business ventures he is involved with. How will these connections effect his position when he decides to run for president? Will his opponents be able to conjur conflict of interest as mudslinging material? Thoughtful replies welcomed.

It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.
There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!
He was being drilled by a senator; "Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?"
Ollie replied, "Yes, I did, Sir."
The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, "Isn't that just a little excessive?"
"No, sir," continued Ollie.
"No? And why not?" the senator asked.
"Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir."
"Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned.
"By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered.
"Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?"
"His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied.
At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked.
"Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of", Ollie answered.
"And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator.
"Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth."
The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.
By the way, that senator was Al Gore!

Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners."
However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands. The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released.
Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center. This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified.
It was censored in the US from all later reports.

At the time of Iran/Contra , Bin Laden would probably have been fighting with the U.S backed Mujahadeen against the Russians in Afghanistan , but I suppose it's plausible that he & North had some kind of beef going on . The guy who blew up the bus in Israel was a Jordanian who is/was 14 years older than the Mohammed Atta involved in 9/11 . If there's anything here that the general public should be made aware of - it's the all too real possibility of someone with an agenda talking b******s . Wasn't the Zeppelin actually filled with hydrogen , & extremely prone to getting shot down in flames ?

Al Gore is indeed a man of vision and intelligence. I want a president with vision and intelligence. The job of our leaders should not just be to tell us what we want to hear or take advantage of our fears. I want a president who will help Americans make the most of our opportunities.
Al Gore is not a socialist but a creative capitalist. GW Bush was a failed businessman, always needing his daddy's friends or political connections to bail him out. Al Gore is on the Board of Directors of Apple Computer and a Senior Adviser to Google. Instead of the government directing our every step, Al Gore wants to use competition and America's creative spirit to find new ways to solve our challenges. That's why Al Gore comes up with concepts like the 'electranet'. This enables every one to generate electricity on their own property and sell it back into the grid. Encourage Americans to work on solving problems and we will rise to the occasion.
If we were to believe some of the stories circulating on the internet, Al Gore is a hypocrite because he does not live in a cave and drive a dog-sled. What a bunch of rubbish! Al Gore wants us to be prosperous and lead creative lives that point to the future. The way Al and Tipper Gore chose to pay extra for electricity by using the TVA's Green Power Switch is how America can work towards being independent of foreign energy sources. We can use as much green power as we want, and by purchasing green power the Gore's are using good old American capitalism to reward folks who are investing in solutions.

I think most Americans know that Al Gore was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
But , you know what?
I feel most Americans are coming to appreciate the fact that Al Gore is a very, very educated man and although he lost in 2000, Gore's Time Is Now! He can help all Americans with his environmental stances. He will be able to get back most of Our Allies because he will lead and help the U.S.A. become the World's Leading Country in stopping our damaging ways to our environment and when I say our I mean All Earthlings worldwide.
I expect Al Gore to run for President as An American First and as a Democrat Second.
It's time for us to Elect a man who can work with ALL AMERICANS!

Actually, Gore was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth
Before he entered politics, his Dad was a teacher. His mom was a lawyer, but she worked her way through law school as a waitress.
Gore's family was middle class at best while he was growing up. When his father was in Congress, the family lived in a "residential hotel" (read: apartment building) owned by a cousin, who gave them a break on the rent. Gore shared a bedroom with his older sister Nancy until she went to college. When Congress was out of session, the family would live on their farm in Carthage. Gore's dad was worried that he wouldn't learn the value of hard work, so he made his son spend the summers working the farm. (When his parents were campaigning, Gore was left in the care of a family of sharecroppers, who didn't even have running water.)
The family didn't become wealthy until after Gore's father left the Senate - - by that time Gore had graduated college, gotten married to Tipper and was serving in the U.S. Army. Still, the family wasn't wealthy the way today's super-rich like Bill Gates and George Soros and Rupert Murdoch.
While he was in public office, Gore lived off his salary. He's personally become wealthy only since he left the White House, through his own efforts and investments.
