What--tell me, WHAT--is it going to take for the country to rise up and impeach Bush?!
There is mounting evidence that Bush and his administration are just a bunch of constitution-flouting thugs. I'm sorry. But in order to uphold the constitution of the US of A and the rule of law, it is imperative that we as a people rise up and impeach this man because his administration threatens it. PERIOD. Period. That's it. The people of Vermont have realized this and risen up in town meeting after town meeting to vote for impeachment. What is taking the rest of the country so long?
I don't get it. For anyone who truly understands what patriotism means in our great democracy, impeachment is not an option in this case, it is a duty. Did I said PERIOD before? Let me say it again: PERIOD!

I remember about a month ago, or maybe before, I posted a few threads in the old forum calling for this.
I also have been a member of the "Impeach Bush" movement since sometime early last year.
So ....
I would like to welcome all of you to my dream.
Now, if only some of you had at least some of the experience I have in the construction trades a few more things would become glaringly obvious. BUT .... I will drop this for now and wait for my friends to become more aware and enlightened.
A house cleaning is in order that, in reality, goes far beyond just the president and the vice president. This apple (No reference to any computer) is rotten to the very core. If we just peel it, we will still have a rotton apple.
Think about it .... !

It's extremely important to
It's extremely important to the future of this country that both cheney & bush are impeached.
This must happen.
If you push something hard enough it will fall over
Indeed, what will it take?
Everyone has their limits. We are seeing people like EGS who were very reluctant to go down the path of impeachment in the past starting to take another look. It is not something I would be rash about either..
But maybe we are nearing a 'tipping point'. The Walter Reed Army Hospital scandal, the outing of Valerie Plame, and now the politically motivated "purge" of ethical US Attorneys.
When are the Republicans themselves going to start to say the "I" word?
Guilty of TREASON
Like many Americans, I witnessed the events of 9/11/01 on television and was mesmerized yet extremely bothered by what I saw happen that day. Things just didn't seem to make sense. How could four hijacked airplanes travel in american airspace for over 90 minutes without any type of interception from our $40 billion/year air defense industry? Then I thought "How could The Pentagon be struck by an airplane“? The Pentagon is the very symbol of our military. Then the Twin Towers both completely collapsed. When the television crews were showing the 'crash site' of Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA, I found it impossible to believe that a large airliner could crash and disintegrate into such a small hole. Later that evening when I returned home from work and turned on the news I saw the collapse of WTC building 7. Very suspicious! So I had so many nagging questions from that day on...
In the summer of 2002 when the Bush administration started talking about the threats posed by Iraq concerning WMD, I kept listening to the contrary words of Scott Ritter and Hans Blix. Of course, Ritter and Blix were proven to be right.
So my question to those who criticize the 9/11 Truth Movement is this: given our government's pre 9/11 history which has been involved in so many criminal adventures and lies ranging from; the medical tests on the Tuskegee Airmen, the CIA's Operation: MK-ULTRA, Operation Ajax (the 1953 overthrow of Iran), the Gulf of Tonkin lie, Watergate, the 1980 October Surprise, the Iran-Contra Scandal, Iraq-Gate, the false claim of Iraqi soldiers throwing Kuwaiti babies out of their incubators and onto the floor to die (which was the pivotal lie coercing the American public to support the 1990-1991 Gulf War), the entrapment of Randy Weaver at Ruby Ridge, the massacre at Waco, the Oklahoma City Bombing cover-up (whatever happened to John Doe #2?,) then given that after 9/11 we've had the PATRIOT Act, domestic spying/wiretapping, extraordinary renditioning, torture, fraudulent elections, the lies leading us into Iraq etc.... YET, we are too believe that the events of 9/11 were solely brought about by 19 Islamic hijackers led by Osama bin Laden in a cave in Afghanistan?
So what those so vehemently opposed to the 9/11 Truth Movement are saying is "Ok, our government has been caught many times in the past doing illegal and immoral actives but on this particular Tuesday of September 11, 2001, our government was telling it's citizens the ABSOLUTE TRUTH. Then after 9/11 it went back to it's lying ways again?
You'll have to excuse me if I find that argument incredulous.

Yeah, I passed my 'tipping point' a month or so ago
There is a strong case to be made that the problem is not just bush, or cheney, but the entire cabal, and the effort to remove one of them, with national acrimony involved, might not really help things in the big picture. BUT, the fact is, the flaunting of the law, of our form of government, of the rights of citizens, just cannot go unchallenged. Criticism in the press, marches, nonbinding resolutions - these are like water off a duck's back to these people.
The message needs to be sent, not just here in the US, but to the world at large, that The United States of America officially, legally, with due process, rejected this guy. Fired him.
That is essential, in my view, to any prospect of regaining even a fraction of the stature this country has lost internationally.
It really does not matter who replaces whom - whether we impeach both at once, one at a time, whatever. The term will be nigh over by the time we get through all the wrangling anyway. But the message needs to be sent, loud and clear, around the globe.
And, frankly, it might help to put the RW cabal further into disarray, which would also be good.
Also might galvanize them, but so what?
"Grass roots - to elect a president, and to save the planet
The rule of law/respect for our constitution demands impeachment
"the fact is, the flaunting of the law, of our form of government, of the rights of citizens, just cannot go unchallenged. "
Exactly, this is why I say that it is an obligation to impeach shrub, nothing less. No man is above the rule of law. Shrub and the "entire cabal" as you so aptly put it have demonstrated again and again that they have no respect for, nor do they feel that they are subject to, the rule of law. Therefore it is the duty of the people to protect our constitution, our rule of law, our precious democracy by impeaching this man. It is not going to be a pleasant thing, not for any of us, even those of us like myself who detest shrub with every fiber of our beings and some fibers that we had to borrow from others because we just didn't possess enough of our own to encompass our full detestation. No one wants to see the country go through this process. But since it is necessary for the health and integrity of the very foundation of said country, WE HAVE TO DO IT.
I think Congressman Sarbanes (Jr.--continuing the great legacy--wu HUUUU, I was so proud when I heard his eloquent words) described it very well in the portion of the Plame hearings I got to hear rebroadcast on C-SPAN this weekend, and I'm paraphrasing here: The shrub administration has shown themselves to be a bunch of bullying thugs who feel they are above the law.
From before he even took office in 2000 (preaching to the choir on that one, I know!), to the way he lead us into a war, to the shameful and repugnant "outting" of a CIA agent as retaliation against her husband DARING to write an article questioning the "intelligence" used to lead us into that war, to the firing of the attorneys, to so, so much more than I have the time or vomit-reflex-avoiding-strength to care to list, the man has demonstrated that he has zero respect for the law, for the country, or for anything other than furthering his and his cronies economic interests, period.
The patriotic thing to do here is impeachment. We have no choice. Not if we love America.

While you're at it, read this story about the casual use of torture in Iraq. Impeach? If he should be so lucky. We should extradite him and his crew to the war crimes tribunal in Iraq to sit in the same courtroom where Saddam used to sit.
