I just want to say that from what I've seen here and at other boards too, many people are getting a little testy regarding this overly-long primary season. Long-term Al Gore supporters deserve a break now and then if we write some 'ill-chosen words that are subject to mis-interpretation.'
peace out
What were they thinking having a primary this long? Gore will back Obama if anyone but it is nice to hear the press speak so highly of Gore's stature and influence. As the race goes on I respect Obama more and more. I couldn't believe Hillary was pointing at Obama calling him elitist--I mean really, coming from a Clinton? And what, Americans are not angry (bitter)? Why, is that somehow unpatriotic? Obama is giving people something to talk about and admitting the truth that some may not want to hear. The world of closed minded people belongs to the Republicans, that's why we are in this camp.
I think this article is carp but whatever. Anyone can print anything nowadays.
Gore will not endorse anyone. But he will vote for the popular vote winner, I guess.
In case that can be determined. But Michigan and Florida vote count, no not Florida again, can screw that up.
Al Gore For President
Posted March 9th, 2008 by ArtyGreen4Gore
I'd really hoped Al Gore would run for President again, and respect his own reasons for not running again in 2008. I signed every petition, and sent money, and did what I could as part of the "Draft Al Gore" movement.
After that I listened to Obama and at first was so impressed with his speeches, but the closer I looked, and read about Obama, the more I was convinced that he is not really offering anything different, and his press agent Axelrod is brilliant, but that is not a credit that justifies electing Obama. Rezko, a fund raiser is on trial for fraud and he raises money for Obama and Bush. So eventually, I lost my enthusiasm for Obama, because I kept hearing inspiring words but never could truly believe in his sincerity. I am glad to see a Black/African American man rise to such heights, but I don't feel Obama is ready to be our President, or VP. Hillary should think long and hard about that decision, and who will deliver what people want, and be electable in the race against McCain where VP is a back-up President.
That's when I took another look at Hillary, and her record of accomplishments, and I really thought about who I believed would work tirelessly to really make change happen, and decided to lend my support to Hillary. As I watched her being smeared by Obama supporters every day -- being called racist, which scared off the press and the latest Obama theme that the Clinton's are a "Hit Sqaud" being parroted all over the internet to get the attention away from the Rezko scandal, I gain more and more respect for Hillary every day. I believe she has shown grace under fire, and will be a great president, and can face McCain and win.
My esteem and respect for Al Gore -- if it could be greater than before -- is heightened now more than ever because Al Gore did not jump on the band wagon with Obama. Obama was a perceived "winner" for awhile, and I kept seeing more and more Obama support from people who want to run with a winner. Despite that trend, AG maintained his integrity, and has chosen not to endorse anyone thus far. I really respect the wisdom, that Al Gore exhibited by refraining from getting involved in this race.
At 46, Obama is not really a youngster, but many of his foot soldiers are, and they are trashing Hillary in the most unbelievable ways, and I think they believe whatever Obama tells them, because they don't know the history of Hillary or Bill Clinton. To them Hillary is nothing but Bill Clinton's wife and Bill Clinton ruined the USA. Go Figure!
Thank you, Al Gore. I love you. Keep helping America and the World, be a better place in your own way.
Hillary trashed Gore just a few days ago, certainly not the first time that she tried to undermine him.
In addition she is a liar, not a misspoker but a liar, she is an opportunist and she represents everything Gore hates in politics.
Her campaign has been a joke and a pretty dirty one.
Obama is not perfect but him and Hillary are not even close when it comes to honesty, political reform or for that matter the willingness to listen to Gore.
Some on CNN and FOX News are supportive of Hillary like they want her to beat Obama. One of those polls where Hillary supporters were asked if Obama was the nominee who would they back. About 28% of those Hillary supporters said they would vote for McCain if Obama was the nominee.
I just hope Obama puts Hillary away in Pennsylvania.
Hi wanbligi. I remember when you saw that Al wasn't running you first suggested we back Hillary. Then, for the last couple months you backed Obama and had some strong criticism of Hillary. Now, you're backing Hillary again?
Some of Obama's supporters have gone too far, but I would not blame Obama for that. Everyone has supporters who get carried away. Between Senators Obama and Clinton, in my opinion, Obama is going to remain a substantially better choice. Obama is the candidate who spoke out against the Iraq war before it happened while Hillary still isn't woman enough to admit she made a terrible mistake. Being duped by a rogue president into starting an illegal and unnecessary war just will never be leadership. From her dishonesty about NAFTA to her dishonesty about Bosnia and Northern Ireland Hillary Clinton fails the test for me.
How does Hillary have a record of competence? If she can't run a campaign how can she run the US government? We know her chief campaign strategist, the nasty-tempered Mark Penn, was promoting trade deals with Columbia, as was Bill Clinton, at the same time she was telling voters in Ohio how she was against it! Overall, I think Obama has run a more-positive and more creative campaign. He's the only remaining candidate that offers a chance to substantially bring the nation together.
I am trying to get people on AlGore.org to start to think about this Presidential race in the now. Some here are still pushing for Al Gore to change his mind on the Presidency and still want the Democratic National Convention to endorse Gore.
Some of these people are not thinking realistically and are blurred in their vision of facing reality.
I never did back Hillary, but would post something to get reactions to the news.
Some here are still backing Hillary with Obama in the lead.
And some of the polls were indicating Hillary supporters would vote for McCain if Barack Obama got the Democratic Nomination. Now how ludicrous is that? The Democrats were supposed to unite to win the White House after eight years of the terrible decision of having George W. Bush as President.
So, Wayne in WA State, that's what's up. I hope you can appreciate where I'm coming from. I want the Democrats and the disappointed Republicans to have the Democrats win the Presidency,
Enough with the name calling. What's up with that. I need to try and get these Al Gore supporters to come out of the woodworks and start make serious decisions about the Democratic Nomination. Most of these posts on Al Gore.org are still clinging to the idea that Al Gore would be the best choice for the Democratic Nomination.
Even those menial polls that seem to indicate what people want to hear are indicating that even if Obama would win the Democratic Nomination those Hillary supporters would rather vote for McCain than Obama in that situation.
Yabu, challenge some of these other posters on Al Gore.org.
Where did you hear Gore would endorse Obama? Spit it out.
With Hillary and McCain attacking Obama over bitter comment by Obama on small town communities clinging to guns and religion, Hillary and McCain are fueling that comment like it was the end of the world.
And Yabu, I am not what you indicate I am and would like an apology if you can handle that.

Thanks for listening. wanbligi.
Actually my post on this thread didn't include any
type of name calling.
Not that I reject name calling on principle but this post happened to be free from it.
What are you referring to?
Where did you hear Gore would endorse Obama? Spit it out.
The answer is in the first post. Read it again.
Yabu here it is.
