Mr. Gore will be nominated at the convention. He will win the presidency
Look,
I’m not an Al Gore fan. But I do like him more than any other candidate at this point and I predict that he will be our next president of the United States, and here’s why. This country is NOT ready for a woman president, nor a black Muslim. I know, he says he isn’t Muslim, but people don’t believe him. Mr. Obama is also vapid of content. Even though I don’t like Gore’s positions, he definitely has one and I have always respected him because he takes one and truly believes what he is saying and trying to do.
Here is how it will go down. During the convention, there will be a virtual deadlock in the party about these two. Mr. Gore has already established who he is, and he has far more respect than any candidate in the race thus far. He, of course, will be on the agenda to speak and after he does, there will be a buzz. Mr. Dean will get the party machine to nominate him, and in a landslide, he will be nominated by the party. Mr. Gore has set himself up as working toward a goal that is more lofty than the mere presidency. He has established himself as the one who will “save the world”. He will object at first, but there will be much cajoling and he will reluctantly accept the nomination. Gore is the party’s best candidate and Dean and he know it. His speech will go something like “I did not seek this nomination, but if my country calls me to service I will answer the call. Saving the planet from Global Warming is more important than anything foreign or domestic we face as a nation. But, as president I will move to make the United States the leader in stopping this dire situation. I will strive to unify the world against a common enemy, and this will end much of the conflict. I accept your nomination in the spirit of service to my country”. He will then pick a woman, or a black Muslim as Vice President, run and handily beat McCain.
Here are some aspects of this situation, other than the obvious one that Gore will be president:
- It opens the door to women and blacks and Muslims as president because they will have served as a vice president. Regardless of what people say to the press, this has to happen first. We will not elect either without one of their types serving as vice president.
- Gore has ALWAYS wanted to be president. He was born and groomed to do it. He will actually will be a good chief executive, even though I don’t like his policies at all
- By campaigning for Global Warming, nuzzling up with the media, and denying that he wants to be president, he has elevated himself to a noble, almost priestly status with nearly everyone. He has even moved a significant number of conservative republicans to believe the Global Warming threat.
- Gore, via his film, Oscar appearances, etc…has been campaigning for more than a year to become known to people. Everyone knows who he is and that is the most important thing for a presidential candidate.
- By being drafted at the convention, versus blatantly campaigning, he is positioning himself as unselfish.
- By being drafted at the convention, he will have a clear mandate, something the Democrats have always accuse W as lacking
- He will not really have to campaign that hard. He has complete and total access to all forms of media. His campaign film is rented everyday at Blockbuster and will continue to generate revenue for his campaign. Everyone also knows who he is and what he stands for.
- I really don’t like Gore’s policies, but everyone will agree he is most presidential. McCain is scary, Clinton is not likable, and Obama doesn’t really know anything.
- The party has needed to get the Clinton stank off of it for a while. Howard Dean and Al Gore are brilliant men and I believe they have engineered all of this in a way that will not only give control to Dean and Gore, but will boot Clinton out handily with this drafting mandate of Gore. A resounding rejection of the Clinton approach. There really is no other way to get away from Clinton.
- The excitement of a candidate being pulled down from Mt. Olympus to serve our country will be a story in and of itself.
- When people walk into that voting booth, even moderates, and a good portion of republicans will vote for Gore over McCain.
Don’t give up so quickly. This will happen, I can assure you. Think about it. Gore has wanted to be president his entire life, was discouraged that he didn’t win last time, and was so close. Why in the world would he NOT accept the nomination in this climate where as Ralph Nader says “If the democrats don’t win by a landslide, they should pack it up?” Why wouldn’t the party nominate the man who is most likely to win and wants it so bad he can hardly stand it?
Gore and Dean have engineered this from the beginning to keep Gore clean and fresh and not get dragged into the muck of primary politics and they have been successful. This is the most unusual election in many years because there is no incumbent running at all. So why wouldn’t this happen? Don’t give up…its going to be President Gore.
Sincerely,

Be part of the Draft Gore '08 campaign!

What? You idiot.
Obama is not a Muslim. Nor is he black.
He is biracial. And his skin color is brown, for that matter.
Where have you been during the Wright bruhaha? He preached about Jesus in a Muslim church, right?
You moron. You shouldn't have the right to vote.
I know, he says he isn’t Muslim, but people don’t believe him.??
WTF? What people? 1 out of 10? How do you know they would vote for Obama otherwise?
They are either complete jerks or liars who look for an exuse to justify their vote against Obama.
Mr. Muoio's Comment Re: Al Gore Nomination
M.Yvonne Parker
Thank you, Mr. Muoio, for your brilliant and informative comments about Al Gore. It is good to know that he will be given this opportunity to right a wrong that happened eight years ago and I couldn't be happier. Let me explain.
Like you, I don't agree on some of Gore's positions or policies; however, when compared to Obama, Clinton and John McCain, I like Al Gore the best and believe he would make the best president. But there is more,
I was a Democrat for many years, having been born into a long family line of "Die Hard" Democrats, but in the year 2000, I switched to Republican and voted for George Bush, solely for the reason I am pro-life, and being a Christian, could never vote for someone who was pro-choice, even though I liked Al Gore better than I did George Bush.
When George Bush was awarded the election, I, like many of his supporters, should have been celebrating! Instead, I was at home crying my eyes out because I felt sorry for Al Gore. So I signed on the internet and wrote a post on the news board about it entitled, "My Candidate Won, so Why am I not Celebrating? I really poured my heart out in that post. Not long after it hit the board, I got an e-mail from a Gore supporter in Hollywood, California. He expressed that he was so hurt and angry over the outcome of the election that it actually made him sick. He stated that he had never felt so bad about anything in his entire lifetime as he did when Al Gore lost and Bush was elected. But then he read my post and it changed everything, and that he wanted to thank me for restoring his faith in humanity...knowing that there are good and bad everywhere in the world...even in Republicans. I cried when I read his e-mail, but they were happy tears...knowing that somehow I had touched someone with my wordsand made them feel better.
Ever since then, almost eight years ago, I have been following Al Gore's progress and have really been impressed about how he got on with his life, not letting his defeat sway him, and continued working in various projects for the good of the country and the world, and was overjoyed by his winning the Nobel Peace Prize for his crusade concerning :"Global Warming," as well as his movie. I had also been hoping he would run again some day, because I knew that if he did, I would vote for him. My Christianity will never stand in my way again for voting for someone who disagrees with me about some things, but from now on, I will vote for the one person whom I think will make the best president....and this time it is definitely Al Gore!
If either Obama or Clinton has to be on the ticket with Gore, I would prefer Obama over Clinton, although I was pretty upset that Obama would take part in a racist or anti-American church and have so much admiration and fondness for a racist, anti-American as is Pastor Wright. I cannot help but wonder what other skeletons just might be in his closet, skeletons that could come out and haunt us if Obama is ever in a position of power. Why not someone like Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, or Condolessa Rice, who has the credibility, respect and admiration of many Americans...than someone like Obama? But if it has to be...and as the many posters on boards agree....Anyone But Hillary!
Thank you again for sharing this wonderful news, and I will be looking forward to the convention and welcoming Al Gore as the Democratic Nominee! He truly deserves it!

There will be another President, but it won't be Al Gore
I don't know what presidential campaign you are watching, but the next President of the United States will be between John McCain, Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. The ball game will be over in November 2008, until then those three candidates have all the chance to state their reasons why Americans should support their candidacy.
Al Gore is a superdelegate and will cast his vote for either Hillary or Obama and that is the closest he will come to the Presidency in 2008.
Al Gore

You might be right, Wanbligi, but I hope you are not, because in my opinionm as well as many others, neither McCain, Obama or Hillary can compare to Al Gore. Which one of these three were ever Vice President? Al Gore is not only more presidential than the present candidates, but he has more experience (here and foreign), is much better qualified, is a man of his word, meaning he is also credible, is very charismatic and well liked, and is respected and admired by all Americans. Standing next to Obama, Clinton and McCain...he outshines them all! If I were you, I wouldn't take any bets on either three!
