These are just a few of the issues that should be PRIORITIES for the in coming President.

These are the issues that should be PRIORITIES for the in coming President.

First is the Environment and what we as a nation should be doing about it. Historically we have had a President that was funded by the Oil and Auto Industry to not push for alternative fuel and energy. Hurricane Katrina proved this to be true when the Oil Companies claimed huge losses due to the storm then were caught making huge profits. If a candidate is to be serious about the job then he must break ties with the Oil Cartel and force alternative fuels. It should be a federal issue and part of the federal budget to establish national wind power machines and solar collectors in every state. Add to this a revision in pollution credits for corporations. No more pollution credits given make every company responsible for controlling their emissions and make the standard equal to those of Germany and other European countries. Our auto industry must meet strict standards to make cars that meet the standards for pollution free emissions and use alternative fuels such as garbage to make fuel. Toxic waste also comes under this category. Federal laws should be established to make every state responsible for its own waste. These laws should prohibit trucking waste from one state to another to dispose of it. This should not be an issue of one state becoming the dump site for other states just because it brings in revenue. Every state should take care of their waste in their state.

Second is stricter regulations for those that come from other countries and want to live here. They should be required to have enough money to take care of themselves and their family for five years and no less. They must have a legal address here and proof of the address by way of a rental receipt and contract or a bank mortgage on the purchase of a house. They must have health insurance for all family members and it must be paid in full to cover them for five years. They must be able to speak fluent English so as to conduct daily business matters and to communicate with the rest of us. They must have proof of employment from a verified company and not just someone signing a piece of paper to say they do. This should be followed close by checking with the company weekly for five years to make sure they are employed and this is not something we would do with just a phone call or a letter that they need signed but an in Person check. We should not be required to learn their language if they want to live here they MUST learn our language. When my grandfather came here from Albania he had to learn the language and he had to wait five years to become a citizen and then he had to serve in the military. Nobody gave him a monthly check just because he could not speak the language or find a job on his first day here. He had to take care of himself and prove he wanted to live here and not just become a burden on the country or community looking for a free ride. As part of this overhaul we should do away with the welfare system as it is and make people work for the check they get from welfare. Just as this country once did we should do it again and make the federal work programs as we once had. Make people work cleaning the city, state, and federal parks and recreation areas in order to get their check. Make them clean roadways and provide community work. If we did this instead of just handing out a check we would not have as many people coming to this country as we do now.
Further we would be keeping out the criminal element that is coming to this country and reducing crime.

Third is Health care. We as a nation send out a loud message world wide that we are this wealthy country with no fear or problems as we send billions of dollars overseas to help countries that later turn on us. It is time we stopped wasting this money on other countries and took care of our own country. We have families living just above the national poverty level but can not afford health insurance. We have elderly people that have no health care because they can not afford it. Our veterans are being treated like sides of beef in a packing plant. Their health care is the worst ever and nothing is being done about it. They payed the price when our country asked them to and now they are being left with nothing. As one of those vets I know first hand just how bad the health care is.We need to provide health care for everyone and this should be a federal program as they do in Canada, Germany and other countriesbut make our program better then the rest. Make it work.

Fourth is the issue of jobs here in the USA. Over the years we have seen more companies take their plants out of the country but yet keep their Corporate Offices here and reap millions in tax breaks even after putting thousands of Americans out of work. This must be stopped and any company that shuts down their production facility here should be made to take the corporate office out of the country as well. We need jobs and it does not matter if they are factory jobs making shoes or computers or making toys and hospital supplies America needs to bring these jobs back. Americans need jobs that provide a fair wage and if corporations are complaining that it is the unions that drove jobs out then they are wrong because we all know it was corporate that wanted higher profits because of their own greed that brought back the unions. If they paid a fair wage and not pennies to good help and provided decent benefits then the American worker would not have gone to the union. After all it is a fact that for the money you get because of a Union they get a percentage of it plus back in dues and for every raise you get annually they increase the dues to reflect it.

Fifth is the issue of the drug problem. Our Division of Homeland Security is a joke. So far from where I sit I see drugs coming in through our borders where this outstanding unit of Border Guards are supposed to be watching for illegals, bombs, and anything else that violates our laws from coming in but here in Washington County if you want drugs there is a never ending supply. It not only comes across our border right under the nose of our border security but it comes in by water also right past our Coast Guard. One case in particular comes to mind when border guards saw a man walking to the border with, and I am using there logic and response on this one, he was covered in blood or it could have been paint or grease or catsup but since they were not sure what it was they let him into the country from Canada where he had just committed murder and was later caught by the state police in Massachusetts for the crime. If these professionals did not see this as suspicious under Ms. Rice watch then I do not know what is consider suspicious. Our borders must be staffed by Professionals and they must be looking for everything and anything and if in doubt detain for further investigation.

These are just a few things that we should consider in our next President but the list does not end here as there are many other issues that deserve to be addressed such as the fact that our delegates in Washington do not have to rely on SSI when they retire as they have the best plan ever unlike the people that they work for who just hope and pray that the money we put in all our working day is still there when our time comes. They should be made to depend on SSI just as the rest of us then they may not be so quick to spend 100.00 dollars for a 30 box of 3/4 nuts.
