For 2008 the importance of this does not exist real strong with Dems or Reps as a whole. It only exists strongly with the extreme left and extreme right. The country is in the middle regardless of republican or democrat affiliation. The major issues are the war, run away deficits, healthcare, education and immigration. Most individuals are liberal on some ideas and conservative on others. A candidate on the extreme right or extreme left will not be elected this time around or even win their parties nomination. In addition extremes for the most part are not willing to listen to every ones ideas and are less flexible and stick to their ideology whether it makes since or not. Candidates in the middle are willing to listen and learn and are open to suggestion.
Regardless of what the media says Al Gore is in the middle and not afraid to listen or adapt to what may be conservative or liberal. Instead wants to do the right thing for the good of the country.
The media has always classified Al as very Liberal and Bush as a conservative Christian man. A few comparisons that are interesting:
1.) Al went to Vietnam and put his life on the line for his country. / Bush got a deferment.
2.) Al was part of a highly fiscally responsible administration that created a surplus. / The Bush administration has one of the worst run away debt. records in the history of this country.
3.) Al Gore left office with no issues and no disgrace. / Bush says he wanted to restore trust in the Oval office and bring people together in this country and instead he has brought the trust to an all time low in this country and around the world and every day its something else and we still have a year and a half to go.
4.) Al Gore doesn’t like abortion and prays it doesn’t happen but does not want to take the option away. / Bush says he is for life but veto’s a bill that would use human stem cells that will be destroyed any way that could end up saving thousands of lives.
5.) Al says that he is a Christian man with faith principals and is doing good work. His ideas will help millions. / Bush says he is a Christian man but know one can point to even one thing that he has done to help the least of these so to speak.
6.) Al is willing to re-think stances he has had in the past and if need be change if the new information presented makes the most sense. / Bush says that when he says something he stays with it no matter what. Admirable enough how ever he is on the train track and the train is almost there and he refuses to move. That’s not admirable as its just plain dumb.
Since the administration works for us ya know "We the people". Having almost 80% of the country telling him to do one thing and he consistently does another that’s more of an indication of a lack of respect and a dictator than a trusted employee. If a person has 8 out of 10 hire ups or bosses and they constantly refuse to listen or do what they are told they are fired.
Some Interesting comparisons above. Who do you think seems to be more of the patriot, fiscally responsible, Christian man and so on?
Finally when you have a good person that listens and that is not an idealog all the other issues in this country sooner or later get dealt with or work themselves out. Especially when the country is less stressed out and working together.
That's just media inflamation and they never connect the dots so that it makes sense.
The politicians, democrats included, talk and vote the opposite, why? Because they know what they have to do doesn't always have a damn thing to do with the media's "bought" domestic propaganda.
I don't know where Al Gore stands on this issue. I'm not gay but I don't feel it's any of my business what others do in their private life's. Love is love and it will be found where ever it exists. I'm for same sex union. Why should two people spend most of their lives together and then one has no rights when the other becomes ill or dies. It's the stupid Radical Christian view that can't see anyone different from them.
No where in the bible does it prohibit it. Only what the Church wrote much later as is all they wrote, much later to reflect their own personal views.

Choice is mandated in biblical texts.
There must be the opportunity to make the choice to DO right or tho DO wrong, there must also be rewards and consequences.
When man decides to legislate that the deterrent effect of response to wrong choices or rewards for right choices should be removed, it is folly that will cost all that don't stop the legislation.
Our government under every administration has engaged in this practice and we the people have been paying for it.
Just because a bible says it's wrong doesn't mean it is right to have the choice removed.
Just because you can make a wrong choice doesn't mean it is right to remove the punishment.
Homosexuality has it's own built in punishments. At it's face it seems wrong. However, man's mandate is to take this broken world with it's flaws and right them. Making domestic partnerships is one theory. Allow those who's predispositions to this way a viable and honorable way to make it work and you might make the other rules of marriage like monogamy stick too. That mitigates some of the punishments by right behaviour. It also establishes a protocol.
People who feel good about who they are who also engage in right behaviour are the cornerstones of our society. There are those who've been engaging in this without legislating it and they have come up winners and major contributors to society in many fields. Give them a way to be and feel right in society and they will contribute to justice where they would not before.
We need that.
