Global Warming ....solution

The Earth is getting to hot because we are putting to much carbon dioxide into the air (this what they claim anyway...). This, in turn, is letting to much of the suns heat through to the earth. Which is supposedly melting iceland (or greenland or one of them). They're trying to tell us that if that happens, the seas will rise 20 feet ( If you have a glass of ice water, filled to the brim of the glass, and you let it sit there till the ice melts...does it overflow?) Anyway, so they're claiming that because the ice caps and such have melted off so dramatically that theres nothing to deflect the suns heat off the earth, hence global warming (funny thing, they've melted off so dramatically yet the sea level hasnt changed... hmm).

So what if every home owner painted their roofs white..? Cheap, simple and practical..? I realize that sounds rather childish, but we're talking about lowering the temp a degree or two. I watched a show earlier on the History Channel where a man with two boards (one white, one black and about 2ft square) laid them out on the snow. After just a few minutes, the white one was 32° and the black one was 90° ..(32 degrees and 90 degrees, in case it doesnt read that code correctly)

Does that make sense to anyone else besides me..?
