Be part of the Draft Gore '08 campaign!

I'm feeling pessimistic about Gore '08
I'm losing heart that Al will actually step up to the plate and run. I hope I'm wrong, but he hasn't shown any indication that he will, except that he hasn't completely ruled it out. I really think he needs to either appoint an exploratory committee asap, or pick a candidate he likes. Then those of us here can move on and work for someone who actually wants to be president. And what's up with this website? No new posts on the home page, no new groups. I think others are also losing interest.
Don't get worried, a lot IS going on right now!
Hi Gal4Al, don't let the website fool you, you'd be amazed how many positive things are going on right now and importantly, don't forget that in 2004, Al told the Draft Gore people to stop because he knew he wasn't going to run; this time he hasn't done that.
Check out this recent interview, it'll make you feel better. Laurie David is a personal friend of his who talks to him regularly; she also produced An Inconvenient Truth: http://algorevideoblog.com/2007/07/25/video-laurie-david-interview-with-...
The website itself has flaws but the people behind it are great and coordination and organization locally and nationally are really coming together, hopefully it will show more very soon. Join in on the weekly conference calls that have begun every Tuesday night at 9pm Eastern. The details are here: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/7/31/122756/242
QUINNIPIAC UNIVERSITY FLORIDA POLL HYPOTHETICALS
When they asked the Florida voters to give the different voters a favorability rating, Giuliani scored the best with 56 to 27%. Clinton comes in second with 49-44, then Gore with 52-39, McCain with 40-34, Obama with 45-25, Edwards with 40-32, Thompson with 33-15 but 49% said they did not know enough about him to form an opinion and as for Romney, a full 56% did not know enough about him.
As for how they feel about the President and the job he is doing, 63% said they disapprove, which matches his worst rating ever in Florida.
One thing to make note of is this. There are many other independent and third-party candidates who might have an effect on the election results in Florida, although none alone would have the impact that the entrance of Bloomberg would have on the election, however one or more of them combined could very well make a difference. Florida, with its27 electoral votes, is considered a very big factor in the presidential race.
CALIFORNIA DREAMING
Only two things appear to stand in the way of Hillary Clinton winning the California Democratic Primary and then California's votes in the general election. The first is Hillary herself. But, she has proven to be a master politician. Every answer she gave during the CNN/Youtube debate was designed to soften her image. She's been doing it since the debates started. It is unlikely that a Gary Hart situation will arise regarding Hillary Clinton because her past has all ready been exposed. She is untouchable because anything anyone could possibly say about her has all ready been said.
The only other thing that could stand in her way is Al Gore. Al Gore, the thing, is an Oscar winner. This is opposed to Al Gore, the person, who claimed to have invented the internet. If Gore runs, and continues promoting his own celebrity, fringe image, then Hillary Clinton may find herself in a tussle. Gore is extremely popular in the state, especially among young folks who consider his environmental policies gospel.
