If I could speak to Al Gore.

If I were to meet Vice President Gore face to face I would tell him that it is time for America to have a Great President. I would tell him that it is time for a President who is not afraid to launch America's most powerful weapon. The weapon which truly holds the world in shock and awe. As President the launch codes would be in his hand. It is time to launch "American Ingenunity" It is time for the American President to announce that America is ending is use of fossil fuel. That in the eight years of his Presidency, America will switch to Hydrogen Power. That the American People will no longer kneel to the beck and call of oil producing countries.
It is time to tell the oil companies, who are making billions each quarter, that their time is at hand. That their subsidies are to be given to people who will open Hyrogen Gas Stations. We need a President who will tell the car makers of this country, that the Government of these United States will only purchase Hybrid cars, and that these cars must attain a minimum of 60 miles to the gallon. We need a President who will stand up and tell the Middle East Countries that we no longer need or want their oil.
George W. Bush became President of the United States. Al Gore was voted President of the United States by the People of the United States. George Bush gave us a war, which has killed thousands of American men and women, and a tax cut, which has been consumed by $4.00 a gallon gas. Million have lost their homes.
That is his legacy. President Gore can end the war with a simple statement. "We don't want your Oil" What will these countries do when, Americans keep their money in their own pockets, rather then paying $119.00 a barrell? It is time for a Great President, Mr. Gore. It is your time. Do not be afraid. We the People who voted you to the Office, need you now more then ever.

Yesterday, Obama secured the support of 4 superdelegates (Reps. Henry Waxman, Jim McDermott and Howard Berman and Larry Cohen (CWA DNC)), 1 pledged delegate in North Carolina (because of updated vote tallies in the state) and 7 pledged delegates that had previously supported John Edwards. That means that the number for Obama to secure a majority of pledged delegates has gone down from 25 to 17. And the number Obama needs to secure the nomination is 121.5.

The Math

Total Pledged Delegates: 3,253

Pledged Delegates needed for a majority of pledged delegates: 1,627

Total delegates needed for nomination: 2,025

Edwards Pledged Delegates who are now Obama Delegates:7

Obama Pledged Delegates:1,603

Obama Super Delegates: 293.5

Obama Total Delegates:1,903.5

Delegates Obama needs for a majority of pledged delegates: 17

Obama need to secure the Democratic nomination: 121.5

Please make some calls and make a donation today and continue the momentum. We're getting close, but we need everyone to continue to be involved if we want to make this thing happen.

UPDATE: Rep Pete Stark just endorsed, making the number of delegates Obama needs to secure the nomination 120.5.

Crude Oil and Total Petroleum Imports Top 15 Countries

February 2008 Import Highlights: April 28, 2008
Monthly data on the origins of crude oil imports in February 2008 has been released and it shows that two countries exported more than 1.50 million barrels per day to the United States. Including those countries, a total of three countries exported over 1.20 million barrels per day of crude oil to the United States (see table below). The top five exporting countries accounted for 70 percent of United States crude oil imports in February while the top ten sources accounted for approximately 88 percent of all U.S. crude oil imports. The top sources of US crude oil imports for February were Canada (1.920 million barrels per day), Saudi Arabia (1.614 million barrels per day), Mexico (1.231 million barrels per day), Nigeria (0.982 million barrels per day), and Venezuela (0.945 million barrels per day). The rest of the top ten sources, in order, were Iraq (0.780 million barrels per day), Angola (0.341 million barrels per day), Kuwait (0.261 million barrels per day), Colombia (0.220 million barrels per day), and Algeria (0.191 million barrels per day). Total crude oil imports averaged 9.606 million barrels per day in February, which is a decrease of (0.394) million barrels per day from January 2008.

Funny

I do not see too many people laughing at the pump these days, do you?

Americans have been spoiled

Americans have been spoiled with cheap gas for a long time...I live in Europe and gas is twice the amount that it is in the US, but you know what, nobody complains about it. I'll tell you a quick way to drop the gas prices in the US...remove all the gas taxes. But that goes against the liberal creed so that of course will never happen. And a way to wean ourselfs from foreign oil dependence is to allow drilling of US oil resources in areas that it is now prohibited by stupid, silly and ridiculous environmental laws.
