Get Gore on the ballot

Florida has until October 31st to get Gore on the ballot. Here is contact information, so make some calls and don't take no for an answer!

Besides calling and emailing committee chair Thurman, we need to push Senator Steven Geller and Rep. Dan Gelber. Thurman, Geller and Gelber are the three democrats on the ballot committee. It is their choice as to who gets on the ballot.

I called the Florida Democratic Party office to speak with the staff of Steven Geller and Dan Gelber. Nancy Texeira is Geller’s staff and John Reed is Gelber’s staff. They can be reached at 850-224-1523.

I spoke with Nancy at length. She said she didn’t think Senator Geller had been approached about putting Gore on the ballot, but she would speak with him and get back to me. She also said she would talk to John Reed about it.

These two people (Nancy and John) are the gatekeepers for the statesmen. I suggest we continue to contact them to emphasize our desire, so they can pass the word to the statesmen.

Nancy also said we could use the .gov emails for them, but she will let me know if there is another way to contact them re Democratic Party business (I was concerned about something like the Hatch Act).

I was able to establish a good rapport with Nancy as we have something personal in common. I was very excited about her willingness to help me. I’ll post an update when I hear from her again.
