Another strategy for Gore
Posted November 17th, 2007 by rodbaileySince we seem to have ended our NY effort to get Gore on our primary ballot (and don't get me started on how that all came about), an idea from an Aussie (posted on www.democraticunderground.com) is to cast your primary ballot for Obama in the hopes that a deadlocked convention would turn to a Gore/Obama ticket as a compromise and a way to go forward. That has always been my dream ticket; and, if the convention is deadlocked and the Gore and Obama people are talking, this could swing all the Obama delegates (and hopefully others) to Gore and we’d be on our way.
We are out of business
Posted November 13th, 2007 by rodbaileyI just found the following in my mailbox this morning. We must respect Gore's wishes and end our effort. I am disheartened because I still think Gore is the Democrat with the best chance to win in November, 2008.
Gathering Signatures
Posted November 12th, 2007 by rodbaileyWe had a reasonably productive time at the Public Market again this past Saturday - got a little over 100 signatures. We had a slightly smaller force for the full 3 hours than the first week; but, it looks like we might have a few more folks there this next week.
New Hampshire needs help
Posted November 11th, 2007 by rodbaileyI received the following from the folks in New Hampshire. They have a very active group that is mounting a write-in campaign for Gore in New Hampshire. In fact I expect to go up there in December and January to help them out some (not sure of all the details yet). If they can show that Gore really has grass-roots support with a write-in vote in the primary, that will go a long way toward getting Gore sort of officially into the mix of candidates. So, if you can, donate to the effort through the means mentioned in the following:
Hope!
Posted November 9th, 2007 by rodbaileyPlease note the following that came around this afternoon from the national coordinator for volunteers at algore.org. Every little bit of good news should keep us all invigorated.
A few days ago, we received some encouraging information from sources close to “things” in Nashville. These sources are credible and reliable, and we take what they’re saying as evidence of a possible shift in outlook.
Time's Man of the Year vote
Posted November 8th, 2007 by rodbaileyHere's your chance to vote, once again, for the man who should be our next president. Now it's to make him Time's Man of the Year. Give him your support.
Vote here: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1672153_1672144,0...
Thanks, Rod
More Gore good news
Posted November 6th, 2007 by rodbaileyIf you have been tuned into the Democracy for America (DFA) Pulse Poll that's been going on, they closed that poll last evening. The winner (for whatever an on-line poll of this sort means) was Dennis Kucinich, who apparently really cranked up his supporters on the web to vote in the DFA poll. However, what we can all take heart in was that in second place was Al Gore - and you had to take extra steps to write his name in on the poll. He had been leading up until about 4 or 5 days ago when it was obvious that the Kucinich people on the web got the word around to vote.
Gore wins another poll
Posted October 31st, 2007 by rodbaileyThere are some new poll numbers from Zogby in what is called a blind-bio poll. In that kind of poll, responders (by phone) are given biographies of the candidates but not told the name associated with each bio. (I've never heard of this sort of poll before, but I'm guessing it's one way to get around people responding just because of name recognition.) In any case, Gore had 35%, Hillary was second with 24%, Barack had 22%, and Edwards had 10%. Very interesting. To see a longer discussion on the poll, go to the main page for algore.org (not this Rochester page).
Time for petitions
Posted October 30th, 2007 by rodbaileyNow, it's time to get started. We had a small meeting here at my house last evening and there are 2 immediate things we are going to try to do: 1/ meet at the Rochester Public Market this Sat., Nov. 3, near Java Joe's on the north side (in one of the buildings) and try to get signatures; 2/ if possible, stand near your local polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 6 (must be 100' away) and get signatures.

Be part of the Draft Gore '08 campaign!
