Truth Has A Force Of Its Own

Truth Has A Force Of Its Own: Click here to watch Al Gore's latest webcast, where he answers questions about the Climate Crisis submitted by regular folks around the world. Over at the HuffPost, E.A. Hanks blogs about Being There.

Live Earth gets livelier: ABC News reports that Al Gore will begin Saturday's Live Earth concert series at a "surprise" additional concert, held in Washington D.C., at the Outdoor Welcome Plaza at the National Museum of the American Indian. The line up for the D.C. concert is TBA... Live Earth's Rio de Janeiro's concert will go on as scheduled.

Answer The Call: Do your part to help solve the Climate Crisis by signing the Live Earth pledge.

Gore on politics: During an interview on NBC's "Today Show", Gore blasted George W. Bush's commutation of I. Libby's prison sentence: “I thought it was improper. He is charged with having knowledge that could incriminate his bosses in the White House which included the vice president and the president.”... Reuters reports that Gore views the new Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate as a sham "Potemkin Village approach" to the Climate Crisis... The New Jersey Star-Ledger reports that Al Gore will join New Jersey Governor John Corzine at the signing of New Jersey's "Global Warming Response Act", which contains the nation's most ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gases. The Star-Ledger explains: The bill requires the state Department of Environmental Protection to develop a plan to reduce greenhouse gases to 1990 levels by 2010 and to 80 percent below last year's levels by 2050. Those are the same goals Corzine set in an executive order he issued in February...

IMNSHO: Bradblog nails it.

Truth has a Force of it's own

I watched the beginning of Al Gore's Q and A session on video on MSN and the first words out of his mouth were "the World's smartest scientists, well the ones that I think are the smartest"....

. ..There you have it, a guy with a political agenda and a monetary interest in selling "carbon credits" through his London based offset brokerage, is giving his untrained opinion right out of the chute as to who's opinion should be listened to.

This is how he generates his "concensus" of 2500 of the "world's smartest scientists" that he then uses to stifle debate by declaring their opinion to be "settled science"

No matter that there are 19,200 disenting scientists that have signed on to the "Petition Project" in Oregon that dispute Gore's "settled science", in Gore's mind, his 2500 apparently trump the 19,200 disenters.

Clearly, if you arguing that there is no argument, you are defeating your own premise.

Man Made Global Warming is NOT proven, and the supposed "facts" that Al Gore spouts are questioned by many competent scientific minds.

Furthermore, we have already seen what Al Gore does to statistics , (just look at his Live Earth participation claims ) and you will see that he latches on to alarmist figures with no real scientific proof to support them and that are even at odds with the UN's predictions..

I don't claim to know the answers, but I definitely want to hear the debate and not have a political huckster ram his self-serving agenda down our throats as a "consensus" and "settled science".

By the way, settled science is determined by absolute proof, not consensus - it was once the consensus that the world was flat...

Furthermore, we have already seen what Al Gore does to statistics , (just look at his Live Earth participation claims ) and you will see that he latches on to alarmist figures with no real scientific proof to support them and that are even at odds with the UN's predictions..

To me, the jury is still out on what causes global warming, also whether Carbon Dioxide levels are a cause or an effect of the phenomenon, and whether human behavior has anything more than a miniscule effect on climate trends. Until that is determined, all these attempts at social engineering to control human activities are unsupportable and overly intrusive.

Truth has force of it's own..

Al Gore stated in an email AFTER the Live Earth event

"More than 2 billion of us joined together on 7.7.07 and with one voice demanded an end to the climate crisis."

My understanding from the reported attendance to date is:

Neilsen reported around 11 million on all US channels including the Hispanic ones.

The BBC reported 3.1 million

MSN say 10 million watched on the internet.

Germany claimed 1 million viewers

The actual cumulative live attendance was around 300,000, or less, for the 6 venues.

That adds up to just over 25 million.

Can someone please give me sources of the other 1,975,000,000 viewers that "joined together with one voice"?

No, didn't think so, The TRUTH is that Al Gore is, once again, playing fast and loose with statistics, Two Billion people is nearly one in every three people on the planet. The attendance in his event was closer to ONE HUNDREDETH of what he actually claimed AFTER the figures were known.

That should tell you all you need to know about Al Gore's veracity and the reliability of his Global Warming Predictions

Reason for Gore to run

There is one other person to consider, a grandfather who is likely to have more grandchildren in the future. Does he care about the world in which his grandchildren will live? Of course grandfathers are expected to. But there are very few of them, or of any of us, with the ability to really affect that world. Al Gore however has the ability to greatly improve the world his grandchildren will live in. That gives him an opportunity, a responsibility and also a burden.

Al Gore should go into a quiet room, with his grandchildren, and think about them and their future. If he runs, even if he does not win, he can greatly improve that world. It is something he should think about, very, very carefully.

Another thing Al Gore should do is lose 75 pounds.
