1,069 signatures for the Al Gore Petition in eight days!

With the help of AGO convention delegates from Northern California, San Diegans for Gore in 2008 collected 332 petition signatures at the California State Democratic Convention which was held in San Diego. Together with the 737 signatures collected by our group on Earth Day, the "San Diego 4 Gore" group collected 1,069 signatures from people who want Al Gore to run for President in 2008. We were also able to supply the convention delegates with hundreds of buttons and lapel stickers.

It was exciting to find that so many of the delegates believe that Al Gore is the most qualified person to lead the US and world out of the mess that has been created in Iraq, with the environment, with the deficit and everything else. So many of the delegates who are currently supporting one of the declared Democratic candidates said that they’d like to see Al Gore in the White House in 2009. There were many from most every camp who said if he declared his candidacy, they would leave what they’re doing and join the Gore campaign.
