A newly organized statewide campaign, called California Draft Gore, is in full swing. We need everyone from the Temecula Valley to join in.

The purpose of California Draft Gore is to organize Gore volunteers in every one of the 53 congressional districts (CDs) in the state and then gather the required signatures on state-issued nomination papers to put Al gore on the California Presidential Primary ballot. The signature gathering begins on October 8. 2007.

SACRAMENTO, CA (MarketWire) August 10, 2007 – Organizers of a new statewide campaign to put Al Gore’s name on the California presidential primary ballot announced today the formation of California Draft Gore, a grassroots political action committee made up of hundreds of Gore volunteers who live throughout the state of California.

Live Earth Planning

We have identified an organization called IGLO (International Action
on Global Warming) http://www.astc.org/iglo/

IGLO is a project of the Association of Science-Technology Centers,
an international organization of science centers and museums
dedicated to furthering the public understanding of science.

More importantly, IGLO is now an educational partner of Live Earth.
As a result of this, the following ASTC science centers are planning
to have live feeds of the Live Earth concerts:

Pacific Science Center (Seattle)


San Diegans for Gore Active at Al Gore’s May 21 Appearance at UCSD

The San Diegans for Gore in 2008 group was very active at Al Gore's May 21 appearance at the University of California, San Diego. Our volunteers gathered hundreds of petition signatures as well as attracting significant local TV news coverage of our grassroots campaign.


Eleven important things to consider at book signing events

I have one word for the experience last night in Los Angeles: “Wow!”

We got to meet Al, speak with Al, speak with his staff and get him to autograph our The Assault on Reason books. But we also understand that Gore, himself, came away with his own “wow.”


4,000 Tickets for San Diego Al Gore Event Gone in Less Than an Hour

Free tickets for Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth lecture were issued today beginning at 10 am. They were all gone before 11 am. The event is being held at UCSD's RIMAC Arena on May 21. The majority of tickets appeared to go to UCSD students who stood in line for a long time before the ticket office opened. Following the San Diego event, Al Gore will begin his 12-city national book signing tour.


1,069 signatures for the Al Gore Petition in eight days!

With the help of AGO convention delegates from Northern California, San Diegans for Gore in 2008 collected 332 petition signatures at the California State Democratic Convention which was held in San Diego. Together with the 737 signatures collected by our group on Earth Day, the "San Diego 4 Gore" group collected 1,069 signatures from people who want Al Gore to run for President in 2008. We were also able to supply the convention delegates with hundreds of buttons and lapel stickers.


Coordinating a State Convention Inside and Out

This weekend at the California State Democratic Convention that was held in San Diego, we had an opportunity to coordinate with several AlGore.org groups from other parts of the state to create a presence of the Al Gore movement that was felt by both the delegates and media.
