Denial, Inevitability and Hope for the Future
Posted April 4th, 2007 by El Burro LocoThere seem to be two camps in America these days. There are those that deny the extent to which problems exist. Then, there are those that believe that the probelms which do exist have incredibly negative outcomes that are entirely inevitable. I'm sure you know what I mean.
Morality and the Military
Posted March 13th, 2007 by El Burro LocoIt seems the homphobes are out in full force this month. Ann Coulter fired the first salvo when she called John Edwards a faggot before a cheering crowd of enthusiastic conservatives. Fox News then carried forth the banner of intolerance by inviting Coulter on their airwaves to educate us Americans about the benefits of open bigotry. Now, Peter Pace, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has decided to leap into the fray.
Fox and Hound
Posted March 12th, 2007 by El Burro LocoRoger Ailes has gone and done it now.
During a speech to the Radio and Television News Directors Foundations First Amendment Dinner (what a name!), the president of Fox News jokingly made the following comment: "It's true that Barack Obama is on the move. I don't know if it's true that President Bush called Musharraf and said 'Why can't we catch this guy?"
Newt Gingrich
Posted March 9th, 2007 by El Burro Locohttp://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/03/08/gingrich.affair.ap/index.html
Newt Gingrich has admitted to having an extramarital affair during his second of three marriages while House republicans were investigating the relationship between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky.
There is only one reason for Newt to make this public acknowledgement. He wants to be president. He's going to float the story now, let it die and then start campaigning afterwards. He's only admitting it now because he knows the media will find out about it if he runs. This way, he can control the story.
Al Gore and the Unholy Airlock
Posted March 9th, 2007 by El Burro LocoAnybody that has ever lived near a stockyard can identify its very peculiar scent. Unfortunately, cows, pigs and chickens are not particularly discreet about where they defecate or the regularity with which they pass gas. At times, the odor can be oppressive, especially in the summer months. However, the scent isn't simply offensive, it is also having an extremely detrimental effect on the climate.
Duty
Posted March 8th, 2007 by El Burro LocoOften I hear the question asked: what would make Al Gore want to run for president again? After all, he is a successful businessman, a darling of the environmental movement, a party icon and a celebrated film-maker. If he wanted to, Al Gore could spend the remainder of his days resting on his laurels and living off of his past successes. So, I wonder, what would make Al decide to risk every good thing going his way these days, pick up his sword one last time and leap back into the breach?
Big Gun
Posted March 6th, 2007 by El Burro LocoHillary Clinton and Barack Obama were in Selma, Alabama over the weekend to commemorate the civil rights movement and to court prospective black voters. Since Senators Obama and Clinton announced their intentions to run for the democratic nomination earlier this year, Senator Obama has cut Senator Clinton's lead in the polls by half, and all signs seem to indicate that his popularity will continue to rise.
Compassionate Conservatives?
Posted March 5th, 2007 by El Burro LocoThe conservative political action conference was held over the weekend. The list of scheduled speakers reads like a "who is who" of the republican party. Speakers included: Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, Sam Brownback and Ann Coulter.
Al Gore: Pragmatist
Posted March 2nd, 2007 by El Burro LocoHave you ever wondered how many Clark Kent jokes Al Gore had to listen to when he was in Vietnam? Seriously, he looked like Clark Kent.
At any rate, it seems that our mild-mannered reporter has found himself in a little hot water over recent revelations of the non-biblical variety about the energy consumption of his family mansion. If you are on this website and you are reading this post, then you already know what I am talking about, so I won't have to explain too much.

Be part of the Draft Gore '08 campaign!
