MORE AND MORE, I FEEL GORE
Last Saturday, I attended my first California 4 Gore meeting. I would guess that there were at least 50 people present just for a Los Angeles meeting. Mother Nature brought us a beautiful environment, our host was welcoming, and our organizer strong and clear.
Today I attended a meeting of the Valley West Democrats in the San Fernando Valley. I was excited to meet new Democrats and I was looking forward to meeting my Congressman, Henry Waxman.
Before Congressman Waxman arrived, I was introduced as someone who is passionate about getting Al Gore on the California Ballot. I offered my AL GORE 2008 pins to anyone who said that they would sign my nominating ballot in October.
I was happy not only to see many takers, but that some members had already come with their own GORE buttons.
When Congressman Waxman arrived, and as he spoke, he mentioned that he saw many GORE supporters in the group. While he did not endorse any candidates, he did include Al Gore's name with that of many viable Democratic Candidates.
I think that we should all make an effort to contact our representives in California and the other states where Al Gore is being drafted. We should let them know that we will be out there collecting ballots so that they know that we are serious about our candidate. In turn, if they see that we are serious, maybe they will not endorse any other candidates in the near future.
Congressman Waxman said that it was possible for each of the front runners to win a state, and for it to come down to the Convention next summer.
Let's hope that Al announces soon so that we don't have to wait for that reality.
