asking Al Gore to run in 2008!
Gore goes to #1 in latest DFA pulse poll
Posted October 19th, 2007 by earthmother
Despite not being included as a candidate in the latest DFA (Democracy for America) poll, Al Gore has taken first place over all the declared candidates. DFA provided a space for a write-in vote, allowing people to cast their vote for Al Gore.
Here are the current standings:
Candidate %
Al Gore 32.21%
John Edwards 22.09%
Dennis Kucinich 16.93%
Barack Obama 13.93%
Hillary Clinton 5.85%
You can vote in the poll and review the results here (one vote only per e-mail address): http://democracyforamerica.com/pulsepoll. You don't need to be a member of DFA to vote in the poll. Just write in Gore's name, in all three boxes if you like, and submit your vote.

Be part of the Draft Gore '08 campaign!

all you Clinton supporters relax
It's not that bad..lets get Al Gore to do it! ............think about the change that really needs to take place...no one is perfect for President! but no one is better qualified than Al Gore, maybe Hillory can be Vice President?..it is what it is..lol

Possible VP candidate
Al Gore & Joe Biden for '08. Think about this combo. It makes the most since. It’s very logical. I'm tired of the "politics as usual". We really need a true change. No one currently running regardless of party affiliation with the exception of Joe Biden & Dennis Kucinich will really make a difference in the world we live in as well as repair our reputation around the world as a peaceful leader and promoter of REAL freedom. We could then regain the respect America once had. Give Dennis Kucinich a high level cabinet position. As a mature Baby Boomer with true conservative roots, I’d vote for this combination & I’m sure a team of Gore & Biden would win the popular as well as the electoral vote.

Those are truly eye opening
Those are truly eye opening numbers!! WOW.....oh I so hope Al runs, i feel a no show at the polls for me if he doesnt, i posted a thread about my need for him to run...

Something fishy?
I recast my vote on DFA just in case someone was able to hijack my email and alter my original vote. I am so distrustful these days----do you think it's possible for someone to hijack emails en mass to alter the tallies?
I urge Gore to run to put
I urge Gore to run to put right the Global environment mess.
Although I seriously doubt that he will run.
If he runs, he would need to find somebody much better than cunning Lieberman as his running mate
Oh no... if Kucinich is
Oh no... if Kucinich is second in this poll, what does that tell you about this poll?
actually...
kucinich is only lacking star power...that is what sucks about our political system.
its not about good ideas, or if you are the right man for the job. but if you are likeable,
with narsisstic qualities.if you look like a pressident...and then look what is voted in,(or stolen in) as the case may be...
but i do agree, with the suspision...i guess we will know what the american people really think after the cacusses
DFA poll
Dennis Kucinich is a strong second because his supporters are really passionate about him.
Not that Al's aren't, but if there are 200,000 active Gore supporters, where are their votes? It only takes a minute to vote the DFA poll. Any candidate who gets 66% gets the DFA endorsement, which is a major deal, believe me.
If even half of all those Gore supporters would just show up and vote the poll, Gore would have the DFA endorsement. So go vote the poll, peeps.
well, something isn't right with this extreme vote count
and so quickly, now over 7000 today, But DFA says they track IP address and follow, so I suspect they will look at the unusual surge and see if it checks out.
Dennis has surged 6000 votes today and still climbing
hmmmmm.

Gore in the DFA poll
Gore was up to 32% a couple of hours ago. He has now slipped back to 30.17%.
The only good news that comes with that is that Clinton has slipped to 5.46%.
It is important to e-mail your list and ask them (again) to log in and vote for Al Gore. This could be a pivotal moment. Strike while the iron is hot.
And now Mr. Gore is up 6 percent
WOOHOO!!!
I hope it doesn't get freeped and continues this pattern.
Superman wears Al Gore pajamas
Says He Won't Run:
According to the Huffington Post , Gore's closest backers, the folks he talks to on a daily basis, are taking him at his word. Rob Reiner, among others very close to Gore, said Gore isn't running, and he is turning his attention towards Hillary.
Remember, I am just the messenger, and I am heartbroken and very disappointed. It is my belief that Al Gore is probably the only person who would devote himself to healing our dysfunctional government and ailing planet.
Maybe the oval office is beneath him. But it could be fumigated after the "Clampetts" move out. And yes, I know that George is considered to be "New England Royalty" by some. But to me, he is a bloody, greedy bastard who smirks at HIS stupid, naive subjects. (who never seem to understand how he manipulates them)
To all of our international readers...I for one, have had enough. Whatever we are doing to draft Gore, we have to do more. And someone needs to contact Reiner, to let him know we are here. And we will not stop until Vice President Gore insists we do.

Peace by Piece
RIGHT ON!
folks he talks to every day is not actor Rob Reiner or Bender
They are only tryiing another technique of "try to squash this groundswell of support".
Just like every other time Al Gore is in the headlines...ie the Movie, the Oscar, the Book Tour, the Live Earth Concert and now again, the Nobel Peace Prize. The difference was, they didn't expect Al Gore to put out policy videos.
http://current.com/people/algore
oops. :)
And everything that Huff Post diary is trying to embelish on, from an LA Times article, is OLD NEWS. Rob Reiner endorsed Hill weeks ago....AND BEFORE THE NOBEL. Bender...joined the anti Hill crowd, supporting Obama as soon as the official campaign launched.
And, like I posted when they started again this week.
"What a Surprise, Opposition Puts Out Gore Not Running Story, AGAIN!"
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/10/17/104922/10
Now we are peaking on the Draft Movement. Mr. Gore now sees the activism he's asked for, AND THE SUPPORT. He now can decide to accept the Draft and run.
Time for a COOL change
Gore
2008
RUN AL RUN AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN
I AM SURE THAT ALL OF US THAT VOTED FOR YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU GO BACK AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN AND STEAL THE SHOW. DO IT LIKE I DON'T KNOW DO IT LIKE THE LOCK BOX AGAIN CAUSE GEORGE STOLD THAT AND DO IT LIKE THE ENVIROMENT DUMMY YES IT MATTERS WE ARE KILLING OURSELVES TO DRIVE. RUN AL RUN AND GIVE US BACK AMERICAN GIVE THE POOR THE HUNGRY AND THE TIRED THERE HOME BACK THATS ALL AMERICANS REALLY ARE WE ARE IMMIGRANTS FROM THE PAST WITH THE SAME WORK ETHIC ARE GRANDPARENTS CAME HERE WITH HARD WORK PAYS OFF NO MATTER WHAT. I AM 50 NOW AND I WANT TO BE ABLE TO STAND AND SAY GOD BLESSES AMERICA AND AMERICANS AGAIN WITH PRIDE. AND I WANT THE WORLD TO LOVE US AS WE LOVE HER AND ALL THE OTHER BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE WORLD AND SHOUT HIP HIP HORRAY FOR THE RED THE WHITE AND THE BLUE MAYBE FOREVER SHE WAVE.
you may not be correct. but i hope you are:
I have a relative who is a LA Times staffer, and another who is a staffer for the Washington Post. and they believe Gore isn't going to run. He is at the top of his game and doesn't choose to become involved "dirty politics" again.
He feels he has more value on his present path. I truly hope that he reconsiders, because we would then have the best president to ever sit in the oval office, instead of the worst.
I am a grandmother and am terrified of the direction we seem to be going. Hillary would make a very good president, but Gore offers something the rest of the pack doesn't......Hope.
What about a Obama/Gore ticket with Gore As VP?
What about a ticket of Obama/Gore with Gore as the Vice President? It would still bring in votes and less hectic for Gore since he would be the Vice President on the ticket. Something to think about, cause I don't think the Hillary as the party's nomination will go over very well with the majority of us. Hillary is not a Bill Clinton, we have to understand that and the reason for a big hesitancy on the part of Democrats to rally around her. And we have to understand the way America is today, and the White men in America do not want a woman President of the United States, especially HIllary.
white men want:
minnieszoo
Oh Lordy! White men probably don't want Obama either. Black women love Hillary. Depends on what white man you are speaking of, or what black woman Certainly not the guy out there in a tree waiting for a mature buck. Not the meat hunters.
Not the guys who have eight-year-old sons "saved" so their GOP leaders can send them to Iraq to be used as insurgent target practice.
Not the non-unionized workers who have a tradition of voting Republican, and it makes no sense at all.
The white male demographic is all over the place. I feel that Obama isn't ready to serve as president, but could train on the job as vp.
I had lunch today with a woman who is a retired teacher at a private school. She will not accept that there is global warming until her friends return from Hudson Bay, reporting whether polar bears are drowning or not.
Never mind that the North Pole is 25% smaller than it was a few years back. Forgive me, I am losing patience with my fellow Americans. All I have really, all I can do about anything, is my one precious vote. And I hope it will be tamper proof.
nothing is perfect
our problems are filled with opportunity! if were lucky the Democratic convention will get to decide and Al Gore will decide to run...

We;re all for Gore. I just really don't think it's going to happen, but what the heck, I'll hang on to a glimmer of hope too!
Why do Obama supporters resort to racism when they don't get
support.
It is very unbecoming.
Now isn't that silly
A freshman Senator who campaigned against the war and the injustices of the Pariot Act, spends his first 2 years in the Senate, not writing, co sponsoring or supporting a Bill to end the war, AND votes FOR the Patriot Act 2. I won't go over all of his other votes in those 2 years-let alone even this year AFTER announcing that he is not going to wait the 6year term completion before running for Pres, that he (also) promised, but not even "changing his lightbulbs" and pushing for 6 months a Liquified Coal Bill that the environmentalists were BEGGING him to drop, because it was like replacing every car with a HUMMER on CO2, and you think we should want that as our leadership?
