Help redeem the promise of American democracy

in

Wednesday, Al Gore brought his fight against the climate change to the Nation's capital, testifying before both the House and the Senate. He called on our elected representatives to find "the moral courage to rise above politics and redeem the promise of American democracy." The Vice President then offered a series of bold initiatives designed to reduce America's CO2 output 90% by 2050.

There is no other leader in America who can rise to the many challenges of our times -- the climate crisis, the war in Iraq, the erosion of our civil rights, the economy, health care -- and inspire with true moral leadership. Our nation and the world need Al Gore in the Oval Office. Together, let's make that happen. Let's take our draft Gore campaign to the next level.

Help us expand our efforts we're depending on your support of $10, $25, or even $100 to our Grassroots PAC-- The People, Not The Powerful '08 right now!

Already your generosity has enabled us to create our new, state-of-art campaign website, which allows us to run a true distributed netroots campaign -- beyond anything that has been done before on the Web by a grassroots organization. This next generation AlGore.org site includes sophisticated social networking tools that go beyond Meetup.com and allow us to coordinate thousands of local groups nationwide. If you haven't been to the site recently, you should stop by and see all the new tools now available, enabling Gore supporters to work together to take the nomination next year.

Goals for the next phase of our campaign include:

  • Establishment of 1,000+ local Gore Groups meeting monthly in
    every state in the union
  • Pledge drive to establish millions of dollars of financial
support available to an eventual Gore candidacy
  • Identification and activation of hundreds of thousands of
Gore supporters, engaged in doorbelling, phone banking, fundraising,
    and other volunteer work

YOUR DONATION IS KEY to our ability to make this happen!

Thank you for your support!

AL Gore should meet Colombian president....

llmg

Hi, I am Luis lunna and am writing from Bogotá.
As professor in cultural realms and living in the country I feel very near Gores concerns on enviromental issues.
That is why I felt so dissapointed this morning reading about Gores refusal to participate with colombian president Uribe in an enviromental conference in Miami. It would be good if Gores counsellors would inform him better WHERE and WHO are uribes princiopal oponants who this week charged him with alliances with the paramilitar groups and consequently created an atmosphare against Gores partuicipation in this Maimi forum.
Mr Petro his prinicpal oponant comes from a guerrilla group, M19 in a big extent responable for the masacre in the Justice Palace in the 80s and several other extorsions and kidnapps, during that decade. These guerrilla individuals were later indulged within peace aims and now take active part in tne congress. His public support to Hugo Chavez distances many colombians from his populists actions as the one sending buses crowded with people to support Chavez a couple of years ago.
I thik it woukld be useful if Gore acknowledges that Colombia is a more livable country now, under uribes goverment and after four long years of trying to negociate with guerrilla groups unsuccesfully. He lives under big presuures fron the american goverment and its economical politics, Venezuela and Ecuador neighbour countries with stong populist goverments. Uribe Mr. Gore may have many errors but until now has shown to be a decent person with capacity tio acknowledge and cortrect most of them,. even publicly and whose interest in enviromental causes is visible.
Its better not to be so fast judging individuals in the race to wash politicians images. Even so
I still suport Gore as a person for the future.

Dissapointed with Gore

I agree with Mr. Lunna. As a Colombian who wishes Colombia to remain a democratic nation I saw with disspointment Gores action by not attending the summit. Gore needs to get his facts straight before taking these actions which did enormous amounts of damage to a nation that is fighting against communist rebels. Where did Gore leave "innocent until proven guilty"? Or does this only apply in the U.S.? Gore has now lost my vote. I know that he will loose hundreds of thousands of latin votes by this action in Florida. The Democrats need to understand that Venzuela, Ecuador Bolivia are moving to communist states and Colombia will soon follow if we let fallacies, like the one the communist senator Petro fed Gore, prosper with out proper due diligence.

Al Gore For President

Hi everyone, Im Adrian Kay, I am From Cape Town, South Africa, and I support your cause, to elect Al Gore as President whole-heartedly.

I celebrated my 15th birthday on November 7, 2000. As we all know it was also the day of the American Presidential election, the most controversial election in the history of the USA. I remember following the broadcast on cnn the following day. Al Gore led the popular vote. I just could not understand how the guy who won the most votes could actually lose the election. After a while, once the electoral college was explained it made slightly more sense. I was a Gore fan, I despised Bush and was devastated by the outcome of the election. How could it be fair and just that someone wins a state by 500 votes wins ALL the electoral points? I suppose thats history now but there's still a glowing flame inside of me wanting some sort of retribution for an election which was unjustly decided.

The strange thing is before then i had hardly followed politics. Now I'm a political animal!
I am fascinated by American Politics, its system, its political culture and even amazed at media broadcasts of political events. We are starved of such quality political broadcasts in South Africa.

I am as passionate as ever about VP Gore and his film "an Inconvenient Truth" only rekindled my memories of that painful defeat 7 years ago.

Gore should run in 2008, he is the most experienced candidate and well served to benefit the US in its foreign policy.

Behind You All The Way AL!

Thank you!

I think from the Republica Argentina

I write to him from the Argentine republica and I congratulate it by its campaign by polucion To my interests much this subject to me. In the day of today they are estan producing very great floods in my pais, and the thunderclaps and lightning
are gigantic, asi also the consequences of this lightning 'atmospheric phenomenon'
that harms to all the planet earth.
I had the opportunity to make a news article to an Argentine speleology, Julio Goyen Aguado down 20 years ago, founder this man of the Argentine center of Speleology and recognized world-wide.
Memory that related all its experiences and their investigations to the depths of the Earth. But the important one in the cavern of the Tayos, in Ecuador, next to another Speleology and discoverer of the cavern, Juan Moricz, and in that opportunity the complete expedition with the company of Neil Amnstrog, the first man who floor the moon.
Many very important and incredible histories story. I have seen photograph of next to Amsntrong thousand meters of depth, next to a completely smooth ceiling, but smooth that the floor of its.Pero office... what but photograph of his history it is when story that down to giant incredible depths found galery with rios that went for a side and at the same time they to return. Sometimes they were hot and sometimes cold.
And this because it happens asks. It made a silence respectful and I explain that the rivers actuan of coolant of the nucleus of the planet earth. The nucleus receives the water and it expels it to stay active and in conditions. This way it can obtain the stability of the planet and the consequences of the 'atmospheric phenomenon' . And as you appreciate it situation of the nucleo. Its answer was very hot: "What alli down happens it is a very hot and very dangerous subject"............ Excuse you extensive it for my message but I believe that valio the time of reading... Very I am been thankful by its attention and I take advantage of this opportunity to greet it and to congratulate it and to wish very good luck him.
PS I am activist of Greenpeace, and a person very interested in science. I do not have money like supporting a as important campaign as it is it the ecologist, that does not have different borders nor languages. Single I collaborate with my e-book to www.literaturadeficcion.com.ar, in which you podra to read, at this moment in Spanish, the complete news article that to him Watered down Julio G Aguado did to the cientifico. The subject is Speleology (espeleologia in Spanish). Permission reduces to me to ask for his to him to make a small news article to him via email to extend and to inform to the Hispanic world on its projects and to make other questions.
Excuse me for my english
Sincerely.
