Assault on Reason

I am nearly finished reading Gore's Assault on Reason and it has transformed my outlook on our government. I am invigorated to be actively involved for two reasons: a well informed citizenry is what makes our government work as a democracy, and I can no longer stomach how our government is starting to resemble the central Asian 'stan nations.

I did not expect to be transformed by Assault on reason. My father gave me a copy as a gift. As a good son, I started reading and got completely absorbed into it. His writing is cogent and sharp drawing examples and parallels from the ancient world to the present. His understanding of our government, how it works, how the framers intended it to work and what inspired them to develop the US government the way they did proves that Gore is much smarter and much more well-informed than he lets on. The fact that he starts off by facing up to the results of the 2000 election, citing mistakes that he made and how eh could have done more only goes to show that he is the leader the US needs.

great blog, but would be even a better letter

Al Gore Corp Spokesperson

AS I WAS READING YOUR BLOG, I THOUGHT, MAN WHAT A LETTER TO THE EDITOR THAT WOULD BE. THE WAY YOU STATED THAT YOUR FATHER GAVE YOU THE BOOK, AND THE WAY AS A GOOD SON YOU READ IT.
PLEASE IF YOU CAN WRITE THAT AS A LETTER TO THE EDITOR AND SEND IT TO IOWA NEWSPAPER, AND ALL THE NEWSPAPERS, JUST GO INTO THE NEWSPAPERS AND PUT THOSE ON A DIFFERENT SCREEN NAME, (PREFREBLY SOMETHING WITH GORE IN IT) AND SHOOT IT TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN.
GREAT WORDING, GREAT COMMON SENSE,AND A VERY INTELLIGENT THOUGHT AND WORDING. GET IT OUT, AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU SENT IT TO THE PAPERS, THANKS, AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. GROUP ORG. AND MENTOR. PAM MCKAIG
