Which Increased First - CO2 or Temperature?

To all those who believe Gore's myth of Global Warming being caused by increased in CO2 - Why do noted climatologist say the exact opposite? Actual scientist (not propagandist like Gore) say that CO2 does not cause temperature increase because ice core studies actually show that increases in CO2 levels follow/lag temperature increases by about 800 years.

So why does Gore continually espouse his false claims that temperature increases are the result of increasing levels of CO2?

Skeptics of human induced global warming are frequently met with ad hominem attacks. If the science is truly settled, why aren't skeptical opinions met with the settled science that is supposed to exist? Ad hominem attacks normally suggest that the attackers can't effectively defend their position.

Can anything tell me exactly how anthropogenic global warming is "settled science?"
